You are correct, the drivetrain is also at issue. ZachDark is also correct, and we even have examples of cars today with in-hub wheel motors. It's FAR more efficient from a power transfer perspective, because you don't lose any energy transferring mechanical power thru gearboxes, driveshafts or differentials. You just have to run wires out to the wheels.

The Dark Knight Batmobile had independent front wheels that steered, so putting motors in the wheels shouldn't be that much of a stretch.

It should not be THAT difficult or expensive to CG overlay the "right" suspension over the Weta "real world" gear. It just appears lazy that the NEW Halo4 Hog has OLDER tech than we even have TODAY.
