Actually easier than having a single motor drive all the wheels with the crazy suspension.
Just get the motor unsprung (AKA inside the wheels or close to).

(I honestly have no idea how the added unsprung mass would affect the performance nor how the extra trepidation would affect the motor life expectancy. Anyone care to enlighten?)
