In Response To: Terminal Reconciliation (Dani)
On the subject of possible ambiguity or inaccuracy of the sources, I think the accuracy of the Forerunner novels, in a fictional sense, is much more suspect than of the terminals.
First, both of the novels are first-person accounts by narrators who may not be entirely reliable, unlike the terminals which are presented as actual communication logs. That, and the novels repeatedly acknowledge that not everything in them is necessarily accurate - in Cryptum, Bornstellar mentions that he doesn't probably remember everything all that well, and his story is merely based on his recollection.
Primordium goes further, with the constant mentions by both Chakas/343GS and the UNSC science team that the monitor's memory stores are incomplete and could be corrupted, mistranslated, or misinterpreted. As was said in the article, it's even brought up that Spark may have been feeding the humans deliberate misinformation to make them lower their guard.
