I wish they'd developed that design as opposed to mostly scrapping : the CE Mark V lineage and going for their final version, which seems to : have now stuck as the "default" Mark IV in all media. For that : matter, the third image (without the silly pauldron) actually looks like a : better redux of the Mark V than the one in Anniversary. Well, I'm a sucker for Mk V so I'd agree with anything that had more of the Mk V in it. That said I do think the final Mk IV is a good design, although I think a blend of what they started with and ended with would have been best.
