Marketing is about creating and selling a product. You can increase the desire for a sequel by holding back information until the right time, but there becomes a point where people will become impatient and frustrated. For anyone who 'skipped' ODST and Reach, they've been itching for Halo 4 since 2007.

From my perspective, we should get something big soon.

If they hold out for too much longer, it might begin to hurt sales. The map packs and title-update were great methods for satisfying our wait, but ultimately left a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths. Many people are still waiting for 343i to "prove themselves" as successful heirs to the Halo title.

Halo 4 is the first game they've developed themselves from scratch and will ultimately determine if a large portion of their audience will continue to support them. I don't blame them for being cautious, but their lack of materials can also feel like a lack of confidence.

...and toys are not big new, Frankie. ;)
