In Response To: Re: September 2011 REACH Population Report (DEEP NNN) The pace seemed promising. First DLC was out the gate at the usual time. Bungie can only make DLC for Reach with the money and the permission to do so, so we were apparently only ever going to get one pack from them. Then 343 follows up in a timely manner with Defiant. All is good, looks like we're on track to not repeat the Halo 3 story of the late DLC.. then we find out that apparently our last map pack is a bunch of remakes and they're not until the end of the year, and knowing that Halo 4 is looming on the horizon, why would MS spend any more money on the current Halo? They should have kept the tempo up and kept people interested in releasing new Reach content with a pack in July or August. As it appears though, it's looking like Reach is going to be the first online DLC capable Halo title with no free DLC to even fill the gap between releases. I don't know, split off Installation 04 as a free DLC Firefight map or Headlong as a free download and sell the rest. Or at least a small DLC pack of one multiplayer and one firefight. Heck, I'd pay 320msp for two maps. Sometimes I wonder if Reach was even going to get anything past Defiant if Anniversary hadn't been approved. but it seems each time we hear the vague promises of "actual DLC schedule this time, honest!" then DON MATTRICK.jpg always happens. If I end up getting Halo 4 I'm not buying DLC until it goes on sale. Microsoft has already fooled me twice, I ain't falling for it again.
