I had a feeling they were on the right track when they hired cocopjojo and Vociferous. I have never heard of a more dedicated and exacting pair of story fanatics. And even more so when bs angel was hired as community manager (could there possibly be anyone better suited to that position? - I doubt it). The panels I've seen so far today (I was unfortunately unable to tune in yesterday and was traveling until late afternoon today - I've been catching up on them since I got home) have only reinforced this feeling. Everyone's very knowledgeable about not only their piece of the project, but the universe and Halo players in general. It remains to be seen whether ANY group of people can replicate Bungie's success with Halo - after all, it could very well be that they had some magic chemistry which will never again exist with any other combination of people. But it looks to me like 343 have very carefully considered who they put in each role - both their ability to do the job, and their passion for Halo - even using resources from the active community wherever possible. So I figure the current crew at 343 is probably the best possible set of candidates to attempt this - if they aren't the group that can do it, then that group doesn't exist.
