In Response To: The way I understand it: (7he grunt w/a plasma pistol) : Is that there are two time periods being shown alongside each other at the : same time: Church in the Epsilon storage device at the end of Season 8 : (the present), and Freelancer agents preforming field operations (the : past). : The Present: Something apparently went wrong, and the events of the memory
: The Past: We're (apparently) seeing key events in the operations of Project
The way that I see it, Epsilon-Church is reliving either Church's memories somehow, or Caboose's stories, or maybe a combination of the two. Perhaps Tex's memories are in there too, I don't know. It starts out with him settling into the memory of the Gulch, but he quickly recognizes that the memory is corrupt. (Hence the episode title, Rounding Error.) This nudges another memory in his mind, either as that of the Director or as Alpha before the fragmentation. He relives that memory, but doesn't interfere with it because it's a "true" memory, one that isn't corrupted. He comes out of the Director memory for the Gulch memory, until another phrase kicks up another memory of the past. My guess is that this cycle will continue throughout the entire season. I have a ton of theories at this point, but I'll leave them be.
