I've really been debating picking up Cryptum because of what people posted about it here, and it's been out long enough and enough people I know have read it (some not as into Halo as I am, others just as into Halo as I am), and I'm really not liking what I've been hearing. Everyone keeps telling me it's a chore to read it. The datapads are nifty to check out. I think right now the expanded universe stuff is taking more of a back seat for me. I've been keeping my focus largely on the games as of late. I was telling bs angel how I probably wasn't even going to buy the next Halo novel until that Waypoint update said it followed up on the events of GoO and I was automatically sold on it. Maybe I just need something to recapture my interest? I'm probably going to be giving Cryptum a chance eventually here, but right now everything I've read and been told about it has me really turned off to spending the money at the moment.
