First, we've seen : monumental Forerunner structures on planets before, and I think that the : object in the trailer is more like the Ark Portal than anything else we've : seen before. Second, the structure in Halo Wars was NOT a Dyson Sphere. A : Dyson Sphere, specifically the one at Onyx, encompasses an entire start to : a radius of one astronomical unit. The Onyx Sphere fits this description. : The artifact in Halo Wars was an artificial planet. Third, the planetoid : toward which Forward Unto Dawn is drifting is quite small; you can see its : curvature when the damaged frigate is quite close to it. Is a Dyson Sphere not an artificial world with a star at its center and a habitable surface on the interior fully absorbing 100% of the star's energy? You realize when you say a radius of 1AU you mean specifically for our own sun, right? If you used another star you'd have to modify the radius to suit the star's output for a livable surface on the inside of the sphere. And as far as the Halo Wars Dyson Sphere, it's an artificial star with an inner surface at a sufficient distance to harbor humanoid life. I'm not understanding your discrepancy with this.
