In Response To: Re: Tomb Raider trailer out *OT* (Cody Miller) : I'm not sure what you're getting at. Nothing in that video indicates she : wouldn't be a 'decent female hero'. Ok - she's stuck in a sinking ship, she's talking about finding something to survive . . . instead of falling unconscious and being plucked from the water by an unknown random, she finds a crowbar, breaks the glass and opens the door because of equalised pressure, or she finds another way through, or she does something active instead of getting rescued. She's on the breaking ship and she sees, in the distance, a helicopter trying to rescue other crew members. No one sees her but she's already running and she doesn't make it - oh noes! No one knows she's alive and she didn't make it to the rescue! She wakes up on a beach, takes one look at the hodepodge of stranded ships and planes and limps into one to find an antique first aid kit. I don't want to see another 'broken bird' put herself back together. I don't want someone who needs to be rescued from every situation fate throws her into. I didn't think that's what Lara Croft was about. But I pretty much don't expect decent argument from you or many people on this forum to be honest. My viewpoint will be seen as over-reactionary and whiney. Women shouldn't be afraid of needing help, noooooooo.
