Yes its far too easy to generalize, oversimplify, or just go off into flights of fancy and believe that whatever you make up is justified by evolutionary theory.

I was watching a BBC program about Madagascar and there were two ring tailed Lemur troops in conflict. The females did the fighting whilst the males stayed back and wafted their scented tails in the general direction of the conflict to add their moral support. :-) I'm sure that it helped but the actual fighting was done by the females.
