In Response To: Descending so early? (Rockslider)

: Are you guys sure you were doing bridge descents in late 2001? I'm interested
: if so, because the earliest date in my guide's chronology is Feb 19th
: 2002 for Frogblast's method of getting stopped on the ledge by a Shade.
: There were some other methods shortly after, but the first Shade riding
: footage from Juggertrout (aka HighAsAKite) was only in April 2004. So if
: you could clarify on exactly what you were doing, and whether you'd heard
: about it somewhere or what, I'd like to hear more!

How dare you! I heard about it from three people: me, myself and I. :-)

Yah, I think at the LAN we were discussing the coolness of that level, and someone said "Too bad you die when trying to jump down" (maybe it was Claude) and I said "No, you can live, check this out." and did the little slide thing. I had probably first done it a week or two before. I loved to play that level over and over again. So fun!

It's a testament to the wonder of that first game's campaign that I bet of the millions of copies sold there are plenty of people that found plenty of tricks and glitches and never once thought to write a post on this new fangled internet thingie. Too busy playing more of the campaign! :)

I'd imagine FB found the glitch earlier than Feb 19, he just didn't document it right away (unless he actually was posting some kind of online daily journal of his adventures playing Halo campaign).

I don't mind going on the books having found it first - it'll balance out that I'm noticing my thinning hair more and more. Capice?

I actually recall something else in the last year or so in the world of Halo being 'discovered' and I was like "Dammit, I should've said something about this as I had experienced it/done it/invented it long before." I wish I could remember what it was. Nothing major, just some little trivial thing that I thought everyone knew. Like I said I'm a pathetic trickster in that regard. Just imagine all those ppl out there who are avid Halo fans but due to circumstance have *no* internet connection and have just played campaign (and firefight with the latest games) over and over again. I bet there are plenty of parallel trick/glitch discovery that's occurred, and more than likely even new ones none of us have found yet.

That's why I was so glad you upped your internet connection because for a long time you had the goods but no way besides textually to explain what you were finding.
