I was a big fan of bumper jumper in Halo 3 because I never had to remove my right thumb for jumping. However with the introduction of the jetpack I find myself in a pickle with the Reach bumper jumper layout. Default or Recon would be great for jetpacking because I would not have to move my thumb and it would be much easier to aim during flight, however I would lose my ability to hop like a bunny while shooting at others. The bumper jumper layout would make flying the jetpack somewhat difficult I think because you would lose the use of the right joystick while boosting, meaning you must rely on strafing for aiming you weapon. It remains to be seen how often equipment is actually used in actual battle, so the inconvenience of moving your thumb to use equipment in the bumper jumper layout may be a minor one.
