Searching the book for the word "years" on Amazon, I found: "the past nine years, since the first encounters with the aliens"
"The Covenant started glassing planets nine years ago"
"Cole's major victory at the Battle of Harvest four years ago"
"aliens first made contact ten years ago, at the planet Harvest"
"Regret had not worked the last ten years of his life to watch the Covenant die" So by literal interpretation and assuming I have the dates right, the book covers at least the range 2535/01/17 - 2535/02/04. I'd just need an upper bound for how long from "The Covenant started glassing planets nine years ago" to the book's end to figure out the latest possible date for the end, which is what I generally use for sorting.
