Probably not Tom or Lucy. In fact, definitely not. Some higher up likely got a hold of #6 before Kurt or Colonel Ackerson could (Colonel Ackerson isn't likely to assigned a Spartan III to a Spartan II squad), and had him moved to replace a dead Spartan II. People are so ticky about canon. Just because Kurt, Tom, Lucy all believed there were only two survivors of Pegasi, that doesn't make it true. Master Chief believes the Spartan IIs are the only ones in existence, and that's definitely not true. I've always considered Class II Spartan IIs to be noncanon, but I'm beginning to believe Carter and Kat are Class II. Jorge is likely Class I. Could go either way for Sniper and Ghost. Now all I need is some ingame Terminal or Superintendent log to make a vague reference to Fred, and I'll die happy.
