You guys should have known this since 2004. ;) In Halo 2, it's obvious that Regret didn't realize humanity was there (one example of many is Cortana's line: "They're surprised. Confused. I don't think they expected us to be here."). And in Conversations from the Universe, Truth writes a letter to Mercy and references "the discovery of the human homeworld." Nothing new here!
