Then again, I suppose the real issue here is not whether you hide the spoiler or simply make other folks aware that you're going to include a spoiler. Instead, the issue generally is that posters often just aren't conscientious of the fact that their posts contain spoilers. All the hippest style sheets in the world aren't going to make up for a lazy or forgetful or spiteful poster. On the other hand, there's the issue of overly curious or incautious readers, the type who ignore the spoiler countermeasures put in place by the original poster (either willfully or unintentionally). In a way, no matter how much work the poster puts into protecting their potential reader from the spoiler, in the end the majority of the spoiler-avoidance work falls on the reader. That said, it seems to me that the white-out method of spoiler obscuration is preferable to this mouse-over method because I'd imagine it would be much easier to uncover the latter inadvertently. That's how I see it any way. P.S. This method isn't too effective if your spoiler is longer than one line in length. The gray bars that block out the text are too tall.
