In Response To: Re: This is why... (bluerunner) are useful, and a great aspect of a lot of RTS games. For starters, if this happens to you a lot you ought to learn to manage your unit mixes better. In a good RTS game, if you're maxing out and have to suicide lower tech units to build higher ones, you're not using your units as quickly and effectively as you should (and your opponent is probably being unusually passive). Use your marines, send them to battle WHILE you tech up to those Vultures so that when they die you've got a fresh set of Vults to reinforce. Having a large standing army and just sitting on them makes them a waste of your resources. Halo Wars has a pretty decent resource management and unit production system. Ideally, you shouldn't be maxing out until you're up to the highest tech levels. If you are, well that's your choice to take longer to defeat your opponent, but against a human opponent you'll probably get attacked and lose units before this happens. Halo Wars AI is just awful.
