Otherwise, don't even bother, concentrate on the guys around you instead. Q: I like your technique for dodging missiles, but how do you dodge the splazer?? A: Dodging the laser is really difficult, if the enemy player knows how to aim, you're pretty much dead. Your best defense against the laser is to not get targeted by the laser to begin with. Stay out of sight of the guy with the laser, and you'll [obviously] live. If you see the laser guy targetting you, you have two options:
Q: How about Sandtrap where there are 2 lasers and 2 missile pods? A: Sandtrap is a really tough Banshee map. You almost never stay alive in the banshee for long, due to the weapons on the map. Here's what I do: I'll hop on a mongoose and drive straight to the banshee spawn. Once I get there, I'll pick up the stickies, and check to see if any enemies are coming, or if the laser guy is watching the spawn. [Keep a lookout for him charging the laser on and off, good players will watch the banshee in the beginning of the game, and take you out as soon as you hop in.] If there are one or more bad guys coming get your FRAGS ready, knock the mongoose over, and kill them. If one hops in the banshee STICK it. Typically though, you'll get there at about the same time, so there won't be much preparation. Just make sure you have a laser guy on your team watching the banshee in case you die, and they grab it. Once I have the banshee, I'll immediately fly low. Sticking to the valleys, and staying behind the architecture, until one of my teammates lets me know that he killed/grabbed the enemy laser. Missile Pods are a LOT easier to deal with. The rule of thumb is: Fly in a tight circle above the missile players' head. He won't be able to shoot you down. Ever. Flying in a tight circle will work at longer distances from the firerer, but there's not guarantee it'll be as effective. Better off finding something to hide behind, which will take the hits for you.
