In Response To: Year 2535... (Pfhor) Hmmmm... look for 7's...? 2x5=10 3x5=15 10+15=25 2+5=7 well, that is kinda pushing it... The marathon left in 2479, so Halo does take place durring Marathon voyage. Whats interesting is that it arrives in 2773, so it IS a prequel to Marathon. With Cortana being "from the same Metal" as Durandal, perhaps she was one of the cyborgs based off of the ancient AIs. In fact... This may sound crazy (and maybe Im just up too late...) but would it not kind of make sense if Cortana was part of the missing link in the chain which ended the Marathon saga? eg. The AIs finally meld together in the end of Marathon and in so doing cause the end of the universe as they become something greater. What if Cortana is the first part of that, after all Halo is around a huge gas giant which probably, like a sun, has enough gravity to hold in a w'ckanter. However I just noticed an odd inconsistancy. If it took the Marathon 315 years to get to wherever it was going (cant remember right now), how can the Halo crew jump around like theres no problem? In the 50 years or whatever between Marathons launch and the Piller of Autums launch only a blatent Deus Ex Machina would develop technology that quickly. Oh fcuk this, im going to bed.
