...for which year it arrives. Do I hear 5 years? 8 years? 15?

Bah. Get used to every aspect of communication and entertainment to come via MSFT, not to mention all news and reference materials. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist or anything (I'm really not), but it is plausible that they can incorporate most communications and entertainemnt via one box with .NET. While its a nice idea its as you say a little scary. It makes you think of 1984 (Big Brother) and BladeRunner (technology overload) combined with Idoru (noding, danger of hacking, inflated cyberlife, information brokerage).

They will be in the soon to be outdated pc market with dominant OS, servers, productivity and internet applications, the cell phone market (lest we not forget that cool Toshiba touch screen os phone in color), the entertainment console market, the peripheral market (mice, keyboards, remotes), and the information market (encyclopedias, news channels, news distribution, publishing). They will be part of almost everything you do during your day. Now what they need are television sets (all inclusive non component systems), microwaves and some form of pharmecuticals that can cure male impotence and its world domination time.

Cheers.

- Meg
