I think having seen others make such wonderful images inspired me to try out my skills. I'm sure that's the reason many have started creating panoramas. Certainly they're easier to do than machinima or drawings. At least in my opinion. The fact that I have no artistic ability in the fields of drawing, painting or the like reinforces that feeling.

One thing i love to do, and like to believe that i have some minor talent for, is photography. That's why I enjoy the screenshot capabilities of Halo 3 so much. My, and others, creation of panoramas is simply an extension of that. Why take one regular shot when you can take six and merge them into one spectacular image?
