That a legitimate private detective (as legit as a private dick can be) not only buys into the possibility of repeated UFO sightings in the greater Bay Area (which sightings are apparently [and on this I'm still not entirely clear] elements in a old ARG) but also accepts the outlandish claims of some shadowy character with alleged connections to a secret organization set-up to advance the electronics industry through the study of E.T. technology? And that furthermore all of this is viewed credibly enough by the editors of two top newspapers that they would publish articles on the sightings and interviews with the private eye?

I can't for a second believe that all of these people have been so thoroughly duped when folks like us can, in a few minutes, recognize this all as internet hokum.
