Here's what 343 Guilty Spark says: "You are the child of my makers. Inheritor of all they left behind. You are Forerunner! But this ring...is mine!" Surely, the Mendicant Bias quote and the 343 Guilty Spark quote can be interpreted to mean that we are direct descendants of the Forerunners. However, it can also interpreted to mean that the Forerunner chose humanity to inherent all the technology that was left behind when they died. They programmed all of their A.I.s to treat humanity as if they were Forerunner, essentially making them Forerunner without humans being direct descendants. They would do this so that humans could have nearly complete access to Forerunner technology. Now, Mendicant Bias treats us as if we are Forerunner, calling us his maker, and Truth misinterprets him to think that humans are what's left of the Forerunners that didn't go on the Great Journey. I'm not saying one theory is necessarily better than the other, but there are no absolutes. There ever rarely are. -SR
