In Response To: Re: Indestructible Hog (Lobster) : I don't think the option for in/destructable vehicles will be in halo 3. When : i first read it, i thought (as others have already said) that i was merely : a joke about the original H1 hogs. I agree that it could be a reference to H1. That's how I took it when I first read it. But even if it is, the statement made someone think of the idea of indestructible vehicles as an option in H3, and I think it sounds like a good idea. : Indestructible vehicles would change the gameplay too much in multiplayer, it
That may be, and it may not. But even if it did introduce a balance problem, we're discussing it as an option. As in, you don't have to play that way if you don't want to. One of Halo multiplayer's biggest strengths is the ability to customize. What you consider a balance problem may make the game more fun for others. If it was an option, we could all be satisfied. It's also worth pointing out that Halo 1 had indestructible vehicles, and was arguably one of the most well-balanced games ever. : And how would the spartan laser work? You piont it at a hog, it blows up,
It would work exactly like killing the passengers in a 'hog in Halo 1. And in my humble opinion, the fact that something works exactly like Halo 1 is a pretty strong argument for it being satisfying. :) Personally, I loved that game mechanic in Halo 1. Blowing up a 'hog with a RL, then flipping it back over and driving off in it seems more fun than blowing it up and walking away. But again, to each his own, and having it as an option would satisfy both camps.
