In Response To: Anyone else notice this? (Neo-genesis) : It mentions the other variations that were shown with some of the first : details for Halo 2. A snow version, a passenger version, and a : maintainance style winching variation. I loves me some new warthogs! Oooh, there's so many hints as to what the Warthog will be like in Halo 3. "The mounted weapon includes a battery for short term operation separated from the vehicle, but normally operates on the vehicle’s power supply." About time we get to rip the chain gun off a Warthog and go rampaging, Arnie style. I hope that's what it means anyway. :P "A number of variants of the Warthog are in service with UNSC forces, including the M831 TT (which eliminates the support weapon in favor of four side-facing passenger seats), the M864 A (with an enclosed passenger compartment and treads in place of wheels), and the M914 RV (equipped with a towing winch and a heavy duty motor and gear system). " Those Halo 2 variants may be back in as the above poster mentioned.
There is an inconsistency with the stated weight though, the Gauss Cannon variant of the Warthog weighs 3.5 tons in Halo 2, I think its just a minor detail that was overlooked. "The hog is tough, but a couple of direct hits from grenades, or a well placed rocket, will end its reign of terror almost immediately. Now if only there was some way to make them indestructible…" Looks like there could be an 'indestructible vehicles' option in multiplayer... I'm totally digging the revamped Warthog, 'specially the mud on the underside and the damaged variant. Oh, holy coolness, seems the put more concept art and screenshots in the Halo 2 section since the last time I checked (yeh, I know everything is dated 26/2/07), probably probably because of Halo 2 Vista coming out soon. Check it out!
