Going on this assumption, I believe that it's fair to : surmise that Cortana may have previously been a Spartan trainee. : Watching that Ad, I was suddenly struck with the thought that perhaps Cortana : and the Chief get along so well because they knew each other in another : life. Obviously neither of them knows this, since most people don't know : that Smart AI's are harvested from brains (clearly a Spartan would have no : knowledge of this), and the AI's memory is surpressed, so Cortana wouldn't : know her own origin. Cortana was made from a cloned brain of Doctor Hasley, not a Spartan.
