Yeah, I work in an ER and we treat Chest Pain very seriously. The Other two "fast track symptoms" are abdominal pain and SOB (short of breath). Otherwise, hospitals treat you on a triage basis (ie the closer you are to death the quicker you'll get back to a room to see a doctor). So in you son's case, it wasn't life threatening and the hospital sounded busy so they fit him in as soon as they could while taking everyone else with the CP's SOB's and Abd pains back. Also, any ambulance gets priority too. Thats why the ER is kinda the luck or the draw when it comes to waiting times- unless you're dying or in imminant risk of death, pray its not busy. | |
