They are not names. They are descriptions of what they are. The humans wouldn't say "There are two alien troopers through that doorway." They would give them actual names, like Grunt, or Elite, or Hunter. : But for a better example... the "Keelbug" that's definitely not
They aren't the human names given by Bungie. At least I seriously hope not. I wouldn't want an enemy in Halo 2 called the "Alien trooper." : So humans call it a Drinol

It could be a weapon. It could be a vehicle. It could be a fleet(which was suggested earlier in this thread I believe), hell, I've even seen theories saying it's the Scarab. You are just assuming that your opinion that it is a species is fact. | |
