I just watched that section of the LE DVD again, and my interpretation of the tablets is that they are part of the story itself, but were removed because they took up too much time. The Drinol was cut because it was too large and didn't fit into the story, like the Alien trooper and the monkey-like sniper. : From the way the Sharquoi is described, I tend to think of it more as a
*potential spoilers* After looking back in the booklet, it does seem that the Sharquoi is a weapon, or, more logical given the information at hand, a fleet. Perhaps the Sharquoi is the Fleet of Carriers seen at Earth in the Halo 3 trailer (because it was mentioned in the LE Halo 2, it seems logical that bungie would explain it in the next game). The context given is the amount of human territory left- that the humans are being forced into a smaller region of space, and will soon have nowhere left to fall back to. |
