Do you mean to say that the space elevator is 35,800 km in height? If so, then it would probably not fall back down to earth, because if it did (depending on how it fell-collapsed or tipped) then it would nearly rap around the entire planet! I don't think so. If it were that long, it would probably be slung back into space (remember the earth rotates at a speed of 1669.75 km/h). : The space elevator would ferry satellites, spaceships, and pieces of space
