I considered this at first, but I don't think it applies here. Such a location would simply be too far away for the mountains to look the same. According to Google Earth's atmospheric shaders, Mt. Kilimanjaro is not visible from further than 100 miles away. But even at 75 or 60 miles, the mountain still appears small and faint. In the trailer, on the other hand, it seems pretty close, no further than 50 miles or so. Anyway, my location is the only spot in that general area (50 miles from Kilimajaro in the direction of Mombasa) where the mountain has the same appearance as in the trailer. It is also the only place where there are foothills that match the trailer's skyline so well. Just check out the comparison image I found; the profiles and apparent sizes of the mountains are identical. As for the city itself, it's true that Mombasa is over 100 miles away. However, I think that the distant buildings seen in the trailer are actually part of Voi, which borders Tsavo National Park. By 2552, it's possible that Voi is considered to be part of the urban sprawl of greater New Mombasa. Such growth is not outside the realm of possibility -- the urbanized areas of modern-day Tokyo and Los Angeles spread that far.
