Halo3 Dang well better look like a Next Gen Game. Halo2 looks good, but it's pretty much all fake (bump Map). The Unreal3 Engine can acturally Fake Pixels that make Bump-maps look real as you move around the object it's on. The tech is that the developpers create both a bump-map image and acturally model the object that they want to fake. Through a process too complicated to explain this late at night, it's turned into a Vector and applied to a surface as a bump-map. In the game a wall surface can look like a brick wall with extruding bricks. When walking around and looking at the wall, it looks Real and as if the Bricks are extruding. So real in fact that if your team-mate stood on one side and you on the other sided, the bricks will block your view of your friend. But in fact, the wall is flat. And if you were to walk at the extruding bricks (if they are far out enough), you'll walk through it. To truly understand what I'm getting at, you'll have to see the Unreal3 Engine Tech Demo from E3 '04. If I can find a link. I'll post it for those of you that havn't sen it.
