I would never even think to LAN Halo 2, because we have Halo CE to play instead. I can LAN CE until I pass out. Give me some pizza and mountain dew, I'll stay up all night. All Lans are different, so anything about them is just one's experience. : It's rather silly of you to say you have no CHOICE in Halo 2 to play with : others who like what you like. Your friends list fits 100 people - and : there are hundreds of Halo forums from which you can pull people to : populate it. Live was created to make it easy to meet new players, to keep the competition fresh. It's not worth my time to spend hours at my computer gettings lists of people to play a few gametypes and then have them quit. It's not worth my time to set up a custom game, even out the teams, boot the laggers and annoyances, and finally play a match that may not even be fun. Matchmaking is designed to avoid this. Bungie just decides that only one group of players can use it.
