That's all well and good, but for all we know, at least on the outside, the X-Box might be vaporware designed to spook Sega, Sony, and Nintendo, rather than a seriously planned product. Not that other console companies don't practice vaporware, of course; I'll believe in the Nintendo Dolphin when I see it. And the same for the Indrema (www.indrema.com).

And as to vaporware, M$ issuing vaporware has a more serious effect than (say) Indrema issuing vaporware, because M$ is a bigger and more established player than Indrema, an obscure start-up that most of you people have likely never heard of.

I'll concede that; the X-box will be using off-the-shelf hardware rather than some idiosyncratic hardware, the sort that just about every other game console has used.

I will concede that about M$'s marketing expertise.
