In Response To: Trying to understand the Halos' blast pattern (Ain Soph Aur) Hmmmm Interesting... when I was reading your and the other theory page that popped up today, a few things came to mind. 1) (In agreeance with you) The centre of the galaxy is (as was just proven recently) a death pit of radiation and super massive black holes... and I don't think they all formed over the course of 100,000 years. 2) When 343GS says "3 galactic radii" - who necessarily means it is 50,000 light years (the radius of our galaxy). The forerunner were vastly superior to us in every way scientific, they wouldn't have been so blatently sloppy with their math I'm sure. 3) About the Halos moving. It's a fantastic idea - I mean, consider this. You have a planet infested with your mortal enemy (Assuming a flood controlled cesspool was nearby) - would you build your last hope (figurativly) right next to it? No, you'd build it in the safest locations possible and either manuvere it into position or (and this is where my logic fails) just realize you're doomed anyway and set it off where you built it (it's going to kill them anyway and so there's no use in hurrying, as all your people are going to die, regardless...) |
