: I've been waiting for someone to post about the 'Hoggar' concept again for a
: while now. The reason? Because the idea that they 'borrowed' the design is
: laughable. Sure, it seems sensible at first, but digging a little deeper
: reveals that -- if anything -- Bungie was the one doing the borrowing.
: The Hoggar is just an elaboration on Peugeot's Touareg concept which
: debuted in '96.

I thought to Touareg was a Volkswagen station wagon?

Anyway, yeah, this is really just a dune-buggy/SUV hybrid. T-tops are pretty common, they keep the riders from hitting their heads on a ceiling, while providing support for the roof, which I believe is also the reason for Bungie including such a feature. Outside of that, the only similarity is the short "bed" at the back, another feature that Bungie borrowed from past Jeeps.

When someone developes four independant suspensions for each wheel such that the entire underbody can be a skid plate, I'll start considering that they got the idea from Bungie.
