Forgive my lack of backing this up with source and research
but does it sound similar to the test area in Fall of Reach
where the Spartans had to take out the marines in the Power
Armour, the bit where the spartans made rope to lower down
on, it could be one and the same

again, sorry for lack of page number, and i havent been able
