You must also remember though that the Flood were in a weakened state, or so says the novel The Flood. Let's see you be frozen for thousands of years and then woken up. You'd be kinda weak as well. Hence them not being as strong as we would hope/ figure them to be. Also it is a video game. Some discrepancies have to be put in place. One other note. I've noticed when reading through the books I get this sense that they are talking about Legendary mode. Although many of you will disagree with me (probably because of your own inability to play through it as the Chief would, but that's okay. We all learn one day), I dare asy it is pretty darn close. The Elites taking 50 MA5B bullets in the Flood (which is what they take on Legendary), an Elite taking 4 sniper rifle shots in The Fall of Reach, the tenacity of Grunts, the difficulty of Jackals, the reason why Spartans die when we run into new threats that are bad ass, the strength of Hunters, and how easily marines die. Now place the Flood on Legendary mode. The Chief doesn't tear through those Flood as quickly now does he? No he doesn't. So don't just assume that the Flood is this really weak race, because they are not. People need to start giving these creatures the credit they deserve. I have this feeling I went way off topic on this, but I felt it needed to be said for some strange reason. Maybe there is something else out there that is a greater threat maybe there isn't. Either way I'm gonna kill it. |
