Has anyone from Bungie : officially said "the initial release will be X-Box only, with the : PC/Mac release coming later, just like Halo/CE"? After all of the : heat that was caused by the less than satisfactory PC port, perhaps Bungie : decided to do it all themselves and make a Bungie title that was not : ported, but done to their satisfaction on all intended platforms? : Releasing Halo 2 for X-box, PC and Mac simultaneously would prevent/solve all : of the difficulties that occured with another company performing a port. : (no finger-pointing, just stating the obvious) Sales would absolutely : KILL. I know that I would end up with 3 copies (1 for my PC, 1 for my : gf's, and an XBox copy for when we wanted to play co-op while lounging on : the couch). Consolers and PC gamers would get their teeth into it at the : same time, not years later. : Anyway, it's wishful thinking in the form of a question. "Alex, can I : have videogames where you play as an AI guided cyborg fighting alien : hordes for $1,000 please?" Said hat trick would be a very unprofessional move. I think that, if Bungie had plans to make the PC version of Halo 2, it would have been something they planned to do from the very beginning. As such, Microsoft would have happily announced that PC gamers were getting their own version of Halo 2 as well. Remember that the shader systems and such have to be rewritten in order for the game to be compatible with the PC. A lot of the techniques used for a console game cannot be used for PC, as no two PCs are the same. As such, it'd take MUCH longer than you think to have a simultaneous release ready. I realize that being a harbinger is the way of my people, but I believe that if Bungie had intentions of bringing Halo 2 to the PC, we'd know by now. I don't think we'll see Halo 2 released for PC. I would however, like to point out that this is my educated guess. Those who take everything I say for absolute tru7h, please be advised that I have no insider info on the creation of a PC version of Halo 2. I'm just stating what I believe, based on the facts in front of me. I wouldn't mind being wrong about this at all. -S
