While some Grunts do carry Fuel Rod Guns, those are Spec Ops Grunts only. Other Grunts aren't given good weapons (well, some of them are good weapons, but not in the hands of Grunts). I don't believe it states which color of Grunt Master Chief killed there, but some of them are apparently carrying Plasma Pistols, which are not used by Spec Ops Grunts.

If it was one of the new weapons that fires huge needles, it would have been mentioned as such, just like on page 108, and I don't see how "one of the needle launchers" means anything except that it is one of the needle launchers. A launcher that fires needles. Sounds like a Needler to me.

As for being fired from a turret or being hand-held, I said, "The projectiles mentioned on page 108 are likely fired from a stationary turret, given the fact that many are fired at once, and each is the size a Spartan’s forearm." Meaning that they are probably fired from a stationary turret. I didn't say "Shade", I said "stationary turret". Meaning anything that’s stationary and is a turret.

If "Needle Launcher" means something other than a Needler, than "stationary turret" definitely could be something other than a Shade.
