In Response To: Halo PC Strategy Guide - Complete! Thanks to HBO. (Doug Radcliffe)
: Hi guys,
: In case anyone missed my previous posts, my name is Doug Radcliffe and I
: authored Sybex's Official Strategy Guide for Halo PC. It has been
: completed and should be in stores around or before Halo PC hits shelves. I
: wanted to thank everyone, all Halo fans, who helped out with the guide.
: Your participation really made the guide something special. I enjoyed all
: of your excitement and generosity when providing tips for the guide.
: Now that the guide is complete and about to hit stores, I can reveal some of
: the great things found in the guide.
: Halo PC Strategy Guide
: - Dozens and dozens and dozens of tips and strategies straight from the Halo
: community. Many of you are in the book! I tried my best to include
: everyone that submitted tips in the guide but it was very difficult since
: many people sent in similar tips. However, everyone who submitted a tip,
: whether or not it was used in the book, received credit in the
: acknowledgements section--so look for your name/handle! If I forgot
: anyone, I'm truly sorry. I received hundreds and hundreds of emails and
: tried to ensure everyone's name got into the guide but there's always a
: chance I missed someone.
: - Exclusive "level designer notes" for all of Halo's single-player
: levels. These exclusive sidebars were written by Halo level designers
: Jaime Griesemer, Paul Bertone, and Tyson Green. The level designer notes
: offer fantastic tidbits and stories about the design process for each
: single-player level. Learn how 343 Guilty Spark originally started or why
: The Maw kept going over resource limits.
: - Exclusive "map designer notes" for the new six multiplayer
: levels. Gearbox map designers add their own design stories for each new
: multiplayer level.
: - Exclusive "Bungie Tips" from Bungie designers. These are featured
: throughout the book, including the multiplayer section with insights on
: Halo's original multiplayer maps.
: - Exclusive "Halo AI" sidebar from Bungie's AI programmer Chris
: Butcher, an insight into creating Halo's artificial intelligence. Get into
: the mind of a grunt!
: - Complete walkthrough for the single-player game filled with community tips
: and tactics and for Legendary difficulty!
: - Separate chapters for weapons, vehicles, and enemies, comprehensively
: filled with community tips.
: - Three multiplayer chapters with strategies for free-for-all and team play
: and map-specific strategies for all multiplayer maps. Plenty of community
: tips here too!
: - Community spotlight section featuring profiles of HBO, Randall Glass,
: Miguel "Bungie's #1 Fan" Chavez, and Red vs. Blue.
: - Full Easter Egg list, thanks to Louis Wu of HBO.
: - And last, but definitely not least, exclusive excerpts from the Halo Story
: Bible.
: whew!
: Sorry for the plug but I was excited to share with you guys how great the
: guide came together, primarily thanks to all of your help. I had a lot of
: fun reading all of your emails and, I can't say it enough, I really
: appreciate all of your help! And a special thanks to Shishka for always
: being around to answer the silly questions :)
: Thanks again and look for it very soon!
