Halo on the PS2?

Does anybody *coughMATTcough* know the state of the current rumors of Halo being on the PS2? I was planning on buying one anyway (unbelievable graphics AND DVD player, can't beat that!) and my powerbook G3, while a great computer which I love dearly, just won't be able to handle something like Halo effectively. I think it would definitely be a great way to go.
