It wasn't a bad game, and it was a primitive example of this.

It was turn based as you managed your counties, raised and moved armies, and planned and plotted different things. For multiplayer, you could set a time limit for the turns.

Then, whenever two armies met in the field, you were transported to an overhead, Warcraft-style RTS game. You could see all the troops you had raised. You then duked it out with your opponent like in a RTS.

It was a good concept, and they implemented that integration well. If they had just given the AI some more brains, made the combat more in-depth, and in general increased the difficulty of the entire game, it would have really rocked.

Now, imagine something similar to that system, only with Halo's graphics and physics, Myth's advanced tactics and camera control, and Bungie's flair. I think it could really, really rock.

It sounds like they're expanding Myth's view of the battlefield. Maybe moving you into the commander's seat for actual large battles instead of the small 30-man skirmishes of Myth. You deploy your forces, move them into position strategically, and then can take control or appoint a teammate to take control of the individual conflicts.

I think it could be darn cool. Actually, I've been hoping for a game like this since I was 10 ;-)

But I'm just speculating, and I'm probably about 7 miles off base, as usual ;-)
