You guys are thinking too small! In a year Halo's graphics will be passed by Quake4, or maybe even Tribes 2. Anybody can make better graphics, and they will. It's nothing like that I bet. This is something bigger, something totally new, something that non of us will ever think of, until it's revealed. :) (then I bet we'll kick ourselves in the ass and say: "why didn't I think of that!?"

At the end of the PCXL article it states: "What could they possibly be holding back that will change multiplayer gaming even more? Will out lives be the same after Halo's release? Only time (and a future report in PCXL, of course) will tell."

I look at it this way:

If Quake were released the same time as Doom, people would be shitting their pants. Halo is so advanced that the "competition" will have nothing like it (much like releasing Quake the same time as doom) And it will take years for them to catch up, this isn't just graphics, or networking, it's something bigger, oh yes, this is BIG :) :) :) :)
