Compass Points

In Response To: A few insights (good ones, please read!) (Locucious)

: The glyphs in the centers are the strangest part. They all seem to represent
: numbers, expressed in a variety of different ways. Maybe each deciphered
: number is used to "point" to a number on the outer side of the
: circle. You know, an Indiana Jones type deal where a puzzle must be solved
: to determine the correct door. We have eight "possibilities" in
: each circle, perhaps only one is "correct" per each. The numbers
: in the center could be degree measures of the "correct" number.
: As to what each "correct" number represents, we have yet to find
: out.

I think this is the key, or a key, or a part of a larger key. Any way, you just triggered something in my mind here.

One glyph says ESE, which means East by South-East. Another glyph is a 32 over a progress bar 7/10 of the way across. 7/10 of 32 is 22.4, and 22.4 degrees clockwise from East (standard compass "0") is almost EXACTY East by South-East!

: Then, the specific ideas: As I said above, each central symbol could
: represent a number. This could perhaps be used to determine a specific
: other number on the edge of the circle. Right now, we know the Mayan one
: on the very right. The "ESE" has been speculated to mean east
: south east, which could be translated to rotational measurement. ESE would
: land right between the 0 and the 6 on the circle, or 112.5° from the top,
: -22.5° in standard right-based measurement. This is 15*PI/8 in radians.

Negative? Aren't compass degrees measured clockwise from East?

: Perhaps the fifth circle is a number in an arabic number system. The sixth
: circle appears to be a euclidian coordinate plane, with numbers in each
: quadrant.

So could this possibly be translated into another compass direction? (I'm not familiar with "euclidian coordinate planes". What are they?)
