The point of self-destruction is to avoid that any sensitive information about Earth fall into the hands of hostile aliens - like it's location. Trying to hide the existence or presence of humans on Tau Ceti is futile: the Pfhor already knew that. To resume: Leela didn't ordered self-destruction because there was no such thing as the Cole Protocol. The Cole Protocol belongs to the Halo universe, which is not the same universe as the one in the Marathon series. I do believe the original Halo was set on the Marathon Universe, but things changed when Bungie sold their asses to Micro$oft. That's why Halo story is not as nearly as good as the Marathon story - sad but true! |
