(Jonathan Bahamon) It's actually: Valete, amici (multiple people) or Vale, amice (one person) The singular of amici is amicus, but that's for the nominative case; we're using the vocative case here. The vocative is almost always the same as nominative (in the case of amici, for example) but when a word ends in -us the vocative simply changes that -us to -e, so it's "vale, amice." |
