To say that Halo is close to being Marathon 4 is an understatement. Bungie is smart enough not to ruin a great trilogy by sucumbing to the moneymaking gig, the way it happens with most movie sequels. However, it is obvious that Bungie is creating an interesting network of story similarities between its games.

It might just be the Marathon symbol in the middle of the Halo box, it could also be that the main characters suit is called "MJOLNIR", if not it is definately that the Rocket Launcher ammo is labled "SPNKR".

This is not new. It is no myth or theory, it is an obvious fact that PID is a direct prequel to Marathon.
